On June 7, the Immigration, Refugee, Citizenship Canada minister, Hon. Sean Fraser announced a few significant changes to Canada's super visa program, which will come into effect from July 4, 2022.
Every year, IRCC issues over 17,000 super visas. It's a popular option for Canadian permanent residents and citizens to reunite with their parents and grandparents.
The following changes will come into force on July 4, 2022:
Reuniting families has always been Canada's top priority contributes. With the enhancements, the super visa will be more accessible, and IRCC will continue to uphold its commitment to keeping families united.

During the announcement, Hon. Sean Fraser stated that “Families are at the heart of Canadian society. The enhancements to the super visa program allow family members to reunite for longer in Canada, which helps everyday Canadian citizens and permanent residents succeed and contribute to society while affording their parents and grandparents invaluable opportunities to spend time with their family in Canada.”
